Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Tree Services

Tree removal costs depend on the tree’s size, location on your property, species, and condition. Small trees (under 30 ft) typically range from $200–$600, medium trees (30–60 ft) run $600–$1,500, and large trees (60+ ft) can range from $1,500–$3,500 or more. The only way to get an accurate price is a free on-site estimate — which we provide at no cost or obligation.
Yes. Every estimate is free, on-site, and in writing. We need to see the tree in person to give you an accurate price — we don’t guess over the phone. There’s never any obligation or pressure.
Absolutely. KLW Tree Service carries both general liability insurance and workers’ compensation coverage. This protects you and your property. If a company can’t show you proof of both, think twice before letting them work on your property.
You can remove a tree any time of year. Winter is popular because deciduous trees are bare, making the work easier and sometimes less expensive. However, dead or hazardous trees should come down as soon as possible regardless of season. For trimming, the timing depends on species — oaks should be trimmed outside of oak wilt season (February through June).
Most single-tree residential removals are completed in 2 to 4 hours, including full cleanup. Larger trees or complex removals near structures can take a full day. Multi-tree projects may span 2 or more days. We’ll give you a timeline along with your estimate.
Always. Full cleanup is included in every quote — we chip brush, haul debris, and rake the work area. When we leave, you shouldn’t be able to tell we were there — except the tree is gone. If you want to keep some of the wood for firewood, just let us know.
Yes, but safety comes first. If branches are in direct contact with power lines, we coordinate with the utility company (typically Oncor in our area) to de-energize the line before we start. We never take shortcuts around live electrical.
Yes. If a tree falls on an insured structure (your home, garage, fence, etc.) due to a storm or other covered event, your homeowner’s insurance typically covers the removal. We provide photos, detailed invoices, and can communicate directly with your adjuster to make the claims process smooth.
